Duck Tales: Vuontisjärvi

The Ducks go to Sápmi, where they experience true polar night for the first time. They strap on some skiis, explore the lakeside in the daytime twilight (with Uuno, who is now big enough to remember that the Ducks are not snacks), climb some trees and tunturit, and relax with a sauna, glögi, piparkakku, and puzzles.

Since the midwinter trip to Vuontisjärvi was so much fun, the Ducks return for another go, this time with some daylight, in February. On this trip, they learn to play cribbage, explore genetic variations of their relatives and ancestors, feast on cloudberry, and try reindeer for the first time (on pizza, while singing karaoke at a family bar). They feel a bit guilty about this, still not sure whether the mythical, magical creatures they learned about in their youth, the ones whose job is to drive Santa around the sky, should double as food. They only take a few bites.
